I know they are frowned upon and all that but if you have any pictures of 300 shape Disco's with full width bull bar's could you please post them here.
I fancy putting one on my car but the misses is having a grumble about it.
I just want to see how good/bad it looks without getting into a debate about it.
Thanks in advance
:D

I don't recall Camel Trophy discos having wrap-round bars Jon.
Anyway, this takes me back about 7 years to when I first got my Disco:

I'm afraid they do nothing for me, I find they are the one accessory that looks wrong on the Disco, the size and shape just don't seem to fit in somehow. I'd spend my money elsewhere but I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder etc.
-
Yes I think the bullbar doesn't lend itself to the Disco front end.
I like the HD bumper and A-bar that was fitted on mine when I got it, I think that works ok and is nearly as protective when c/w light guards.

I've taken the same route Deano, Defender A-bar on a BRB winch bumper.

Or there's this type of integral bullbar on a winch bumper:

i love bull bars. they look really beefy, i think they do fit discos quite well...well some of them. if its a HD bull bar you're after, they're really usefull. i dont have anything on the front of my truck for towropes etc, so its good to wrap them round the bumper if really muddy. ive got stuck in icky situations, so i've used the bumper as a grab rail or sometime to walk over. its only the odd little thig here. depends if you're allowed a HD/winch bumper

Heres ours fitted to Scarlett...
-
Nahhh, still not sold on the bull bars. The lights however - that's where I'd spend my money, although I think I'd mount them above the bar.

What bar, bull bar or roof bar?

Here's my bumper

The best thing about the full bar is the protection it offers to the front wings/ headlights when offroading.

The roof bar.
-
We used to but looked a bit daffed we thought.
Any back to bull bars guys...
Jake ours has proved good as hit a wall the other day when doing a three point turn and it just scrapped some paint of the bar. Luckly it was there, if it hadn't I expect we would have no o/s indicator.

the abs full wrapround bullbar from the factory is the best looking one think there 218 quid new
i had an a bar then full bullbar but they aint good when u bend the side wing from a impact on wraparound ones. so do this to it solves the problem.

really u cant do this then.

he said it "offers protection"
clever clogs

so a arb bumper is 600 quid. new wings 230 quid and 120 quid fitted and sprayed if i remember my quote. take a close look at mine it on cost me 100 quid. never had any problems damage now just slight appoach angle tight spots.
it all adds up........

Sorry to redirect this thread but i'm not that bothered about full replacement bumpers featuring bull bars
If that was the case i'd just buy a ARB one from work (which i do like, a lot)
So, no more HD bumpers and just bull bar pictures please
-
hd r great if u use them. what is the main purpose of a bullbar jake looks or style or finish
-
There is a factory fitted LR one kicking about at work.
I've been offered it for a silly price and the only thing i'm thinking is some where to hang some spot lights rather than the bumper
I could buy an A bar, we stock both at work (soft and hard) but i'm too tight to spend £80+ on a new one
I would go for the ARB bumper but again, I'm too tight
The other option is to get one of those little spot light bars that bolt to the bumper but i dont really like them
I just want to see how they look fitted rather than wasting my time fitting it then deceiding i dont like it
So, more pictures please
:)

i would find a second hand one . spray it with a high gloss sliver or metal flake paint .laquerd loads of times and it will look real posh when done. even better when with clear indictors
i got my bullbar for 30 quid secondhand from gaydon . cleaned it up and sprayed it black .
ebay has 1s going cheap as well
-
Heres mine....
-
thats what i mean oh id fit a series 2 front bumper and will look even better.
