CAN ANYBODY TELL WHERE U GET THIS ONE FROM OR SIMILAR
-
just tell them you got two arm's and two legs, then they take one of each and your wallet. http://www.4x4shop247.co.uk/index.html?lmd=39352.533067

THE STYLE I LIKE BESIDE IT TO FULL OF OVERHANG TO USE. PLUS WITH A 3 BODY LIFT THE NUDGE BAR WOULD EFFECT THE LIGHT BEAM WITHOUT A MOD ON THE CHASSAIS TO LIFT IT TO THE RESET HIGHT.
WANT FOG LIGHT WHERE THE REFLECT OR OUT OF HARMS WAY CAUSE THEY WILL NEED TO MOVE TO AVOID BLINDING OTHER ROAD USER.
IF SOME HAD THE MEASUREMENT AND A DIAGRAM OF IT THAT BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL
ITS ME WHO BUILD ALL THE CUSTOM BITS ON THE TRUCK
-
It's similar to an ARB, which Devon4x4 sell.
-
its still 560 quid remember
-
There are a few similar ones around but all pretty pricey. The only alternative I think is to make your own... or go for a minimalist one like the Winch Solutions one.
-
what i had inmind was a champion bumper with the middle section from a classic rangie bull bar welded on arb sides made for the light bit on each side and inlet on the bumper for the fog lights
-
You can now only buy bumpers with bullbars fitted on the second hand market or as old stock. The EU banned the sale of new items back in June (IIRC) and the only new ones for sale now are from stock that was in the country prior to the ban.
ARB have stopped shipping any of their bumpers to the UK or Europe since the introduction of the ban. :(
So if you want one then it's Ebay or ,as you've already said, make it.

I've questioned this before on another forum and got no answer, All the referanced information I've seen only bans the sale bullbars in this country that do not meet EU specification. I'm not saying metal bumpers are still legal to make, but somebody show me the evidance that they are illegal.
Its like the supposed "fox hunting" ban, there is a lot of chinese wispers going around making out its illegal, whilst the actual letter of the law means it is actually still legal to hunt foxs in this country provided it is not killed by hounds

I don't think anybody is saying METAL bumpers are illegal to make are they?
Devon 4x4 told me (at one of the shows) that bull bars are no longer legal to manufacture for use here, but they were able to sell the stock they already had. I don't have any factual evidence either way, but I presume they made that decision on something sounder than hearsay.
-
As I understand it, it's the sale and manufacture of bullbars and bumpers with integral bullbars that don't comform to the new EU regulations that are effected.
I found this news release after a quick Google search: http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=198682
I've yet to find anything from a government website though.
Edit: Here's the EU directive, if you fancy trawling through it: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32005L0066:EN:HTML

Sorry...but not my cup of tea at all!
Best front end I have seen is Skibum's with a Defender A bar...that's 3 times I've been outbid for one since on fleabay...grrrr!
Less is more...
-
The bumper at the start of this thread is a TJM

:D

Here is the Rebel 4x4 heavy duty winch bumper with Defender A-Bar and Superwinch ep9000i.
Some modifications were required to fit it with the steering guard and about 3" has been cut off the sides to match the arches and get the wheels to clear.
It fits quite close to the grille and no cutting of the plastic was needed to fit the winch.

For sheer performance, the tubular bumpers offer the best apprach angles but I personaly like the more traditional styling.
-
cant beat tubulars on discos

CAN ANYBODY TELL WHERE U GET THIS ONE FROM OR SIMILAR
that looks a heavy winch bumper..i saw an ARB one go for £600 PAIDIA 4X4 did a nice tapered bumper for £225 free delivery, but when i rang to order one, they didnt have any in stock, but this was a couple of months ago, so they might have them in now, http://www.paidia4x4.com/
winters coming, fit one of these instead, least you'll get to work on time !!
-
you can always try the new one from Guardian. :D
-
can member plz post photos of tubelar winch bumper plz think of this type now instead of the arb one ideally with 32s tyres on plz not sure if there to ugly looking
-
I do like the look of the Guardian tubular one, only snag is it has an A bar welded on which I don't really fancy (insurance implications, plus I don't like the look of them). If a version without the A bar was also available then I'd be queueing up to order one (my quest to find a sensibly priced bumper with front recovery points built in)!
-
ill be going for the guardian tubular one it looks the nuts it has the best clearance as well when facing tight climbs the one at the top featured sticks out so far i can see urself getting ground out on that easy peasy and it doesnt look the lightest instument in the world the less weight over the front end the better
-
not a fan of the first one... its not even on straight..
these are nuts...
something subtle, that almost looks like its ment to be there draws less attention..
-
Gaurdian tubular jobby.... slightly modifed, but stil is what it is.....

If you've got over hang issues already, forget the one from Firstfouroffroad..... look at where the winch is, it sits right outside the gril!! then look at where mine is, mine is totally inside the grill, admittedly thats what i modifed, but ieven when i got the bumper, the winch sat almost right inside.....
-
if you want a snug fit with no overhang, get a winch mount that sits flush with the grill ...ie, the tubular sort, or pay a lot for the square bumpery type ones... if you want a big brutal bull bar, accept the fact that it will protrude a lot...
dont forget that you can get the snug fitting one, then get an aftermarket aframe/modify a bull bar to bolt on to it....
:)
-
anybody got a tubular bumper with a 2 inch body lift fitted with a pic plz
-
got it this is the one but wraparound type

that will be so heavy! u will need to lift the truck loads to keep it up!
-
On a Disco, I find that the Scorpion Winch bumper to be very good. It has a nice low profile, doesn't stick out too much and scream "I've got a winch" at the world ..... it's nice n subtle.
I also wraps around the front corners of the wings and offers more protection and still has a really good approach angle.
-
ah found that meaty one i was thinking of

You might have a point there - it reminds me of the couplings on older Hornby trains

Take the hook out of the equation and the remaining bar is pretty similar...
-
heres my little puppy, need to finish off the front end with light bar that i have bought and 4 wipac 8" spots that i have so its a case of fitting them
and chequer plating the bonnet and getting the super winch epi9.5
(http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/7765/dsc00353jx7.jpg)
-
sorry to say i think that they look better on a defender
-
your puppy is looking the biz mr alford.
-
that bumper looks completely hideous, and unbeleivably it manages to look even worse when the winch is removed!!
We must run a competition for the worst looking bolt on!!
-
i believe this should do the trick then
