Have just fitted my Ramsey hydraulic winch into a new Guardian tubular bumper on the 110. I've taken the 100ft of wire rope off, as it was looking quite rough, and (being an ex-utlity vehicle) I'm not sure what the leccy-board guys did with the wire before I got hold of it.
I'm going to order some Plamsa 12 strand (almost certainly from Andy @ Ruftraks), but which size - 9.5mm or 11mm, and what length. Would I be able to get 125ft onto the drum, or do I stick with 100ft ?
The wire was 10mm, so I reckon I could get a bit more than 100ft of 9.5mm on, but I'm not sure if 100ft of 11mm Plasma would fit the drum.
Any thoughts or ideas ?

for the pulling power of your winch i would recomend 11mm but speak to andy & see what he says

I will phone Andy during the week, have also dropped him an email. I was thinking along the lines of the 11mm, just not sure it will all fit on the drum !

once the 11mmhas been stretched it goes down to about 10 mil
so id fit 100ft of 11
like mike already said, for the power of the winch, you really need the same size or abit bigger rope

Got an email from Andy, he reckons the 9.5mm will be fine - seeing as I'm not going in for winching competitions etc. Will phone him in the week, and discuss in more detail.
