Title: Someone bumped Jeeves
Post by: Lee_D on September 15, 2007, 20:45:12
Some low life scraped the corner of the bumper on my RRIII today, I've only had it coming up on two weeks. They didn't stop or leave details. It's took about 3/4 of an inch of paint off  :x  I'm guessing it's not worth the myther of an insurance claim to fix.

What sort of price do paint peeps charge for a propper job? It's Zambezi Silver and it's down to the black plastic , about 1/4 inch wide 3/4 inch long.

Bit too big for a touch up stick.

I've also had a chap out to do some minor repair to the Navara I used to have, after i had a small argument with a dry stone wall in the snow earlier this year.  I had a deep scrape and a small hole in my bumper,  he did a fab job, you couldn't tell there had ever been any damage and it only cost me £70!   :(contented):

Unfortunately, he isn't local to you, but I got his details from my local Nissan dealer, so maybe your local Land Rover dealer may be able to recomment someone to you.
Good luck.

I can cope with £70, though would have been nice not to have to spend owt. I guess it's one of those things. Most importantly though I just want my truck right.

Fingers crossed!

Depends how good a job you want...

I'd rather pay a little more and know I'm getting a job done well

we reported ours to the police and recently we have had a letter saying they can't trace the person who did it

Too right! Can't have a scruffy Jeeves.

Here he is anyway - I don't think he's been introduced yet on MCUK

Got a quote today £150 plus VAT, they do the work at home address and it will take a couple of hours which I can cope with. I'm getting them to do a little more work than just the Manc inflicted bump and run, a dodgie touch up stick has been used in the past on a verticle scuff. Will be sorted next Monday provided it's not raining sideways. £150 I could have done without having to spend (cost me less to respray my whole classic myself, but in fairness I did spend two weeks after compounding and polishing it!) but I daren't touch this one myself.
