Title: Fuel Pump Options- Anyone using Out of Tank Pump - Fixed THX
Post by: kjj0506 on August 12, 2007, 20:05:17
My pump failed and I am always looking for a way to upgrade if I can.

I am thinking that an external pump and fuel pressure regulator would be less expensive , easier to service and tune , and was hoping there was some one with experience dong this here .

Any input would be appreciatted

In kit car building style, just go and have a look round a scrap yard and see what you can source, theres bound to be a number of cars with external electric fuel pumps that could substitute.

Alternatively I'm sure there must be lots of motorsport shops similare to this UK able to provide all you need.

however , I am not looking for a 'scrap yard maybe will maybe wont be good' fix. I am seeking info from someone who may have built an improved RRC that may have gone through the trial of fitting an aftermarket 'performance' style pump that will allow me to get the pump out of the tank.

Your assistance and link is nice though , thanks .

Well my mate has the 430HC lump in his TVR and that runs an external Bosch fuel pump.  The EFi is good old hot wire and the engine isof ocourse the 4.2 LSE, albeit reworked by TVR with 300plus horses.

Pump cost about £50 from E-Blag when it went.

I am all but finished. The pump is mounted behind the tank up out of the way and all the lines run above the filler tube as to not be in peril of sticks and rocks ..... I am very pleased with it. Runs and drives famously.
