Title: Disco TD5 SLS problem (stuck on a steep drive)

Last night i parked my disco on a steep drive nose pointing down, this morning the drivers side rear air spring had deflated right down on to the stop. This has happened before but last time it righted itself as i drove off.
However the drive it is on is so steep that the tow bar is grounding as i reach the top of the drive. Is there anyway of raising the spring so i can get off of the drive or do i have to somehow get underneath and take the tow bar off. If i just leave it running will it eventually right itself.

I guess you must have tried raising the rear end as high as possible using the 'off road' setting for the rear springs?

Yes have tried that but its not lifting that side at all the compressor is running ok.

Stick a trolley jack under the towbar to get it off the bump stops and see if it will go up at all.

If not crawl under neath and stick some wood under the bump rubber.

Thanks for that sounds like a really good idea i wish i had thought of it.

After spending an hour wrestling with the tow bar i finally got the end of it off i figured that would give me just enough clearance to clear the drive, so i thought i would get the Mrs to back the Disco up while i watched the back to make sure all was well, as soon as she started it hey presto the blommin thing raised up off the stops.
Is that what they call sods law!!!!

Still at least it is off the drive now and i can get it to the garage on Monday.

remember also that the compressor wont fire up if the doors are open... so for troubleshooting bear that in mind.

this simplest of knowledge cost me a few hours during an air bag replacement!
