suppose you could try internal bead lockers see if that helps push the tyre wall out to the edge of the rim but i still doubt it.  why do you want the rims that wide anyways?

Yep but you run the risk of hitting your wheels as the tyres don't stick out that far a bit like a normal car.

Probably not. Looking at the spec sheet for BFG MT (http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/mud_terrain_ta_km.pdf) a 235/70 of theirs is not reccomended to be fitted to such a wide rim.

I don't know what tyres you are planning to use, and it is possible that the construction of a different tyre would allow it to be fitted to an 8" rim, but you would need to consult the manufacturers spec sheet to find out.

Not a lot, as there doesn't seem to be any useful information on their website (http://www.insaturbo.com/e_neumaticos_terreno.html#) , although it may be there somewhere, but the irritating noises added to the site wound me up.

Perhaps your tyre supplier would have the nescessary data, I would hope that they would be able to answer simple questions like "what wheels are these tyres safe to fit to?"

There again I suppose it ultimately depends on the specification for the original tyre carcass, hopefully all of the tyres you have are remoulded onto the same specification carcass.

I'm not a fan of remoulds myself, something to do with a conversation I had over coffee with the director of tyre research at SP Tyres.

Sorted Paddocks are taking the 235's back as they have never been opened and my dad has sorted a set of 255/70r16's Greenway Macho's from Sowden Tyres
