We all love to eat (well, it's more of a neccesity than anything)
With that in mind would it be worth creating (Tim...) a new forum, perhaps with the 'Links/Recommendations'?, for 'good grub'?
This could encompass cafes, restaurants, take-aways, truck stops, pub-food, etc..........
As you/we travel around the country wouldn't it be nice to know where to stop for food - be you on holiday, business, or simply pleasure?
Big White Sheds On Wheels (http://www.touringandtenting.com) have a forum for this & it's well read.
What does anyone else think?
Please if it does happen include as many details as possible'
Name
Address (or reasonable directions)
Phone number
Web-site (if they have one & you know it)
OS Map referance
Type of food served

maybe worth splitting up the categories into the roads they are on or the counties they are in?
-
Even by county or road you would still have to divide down to nearest town/junction.. Could be very useful though :)
-
too right!
hopefully mr burt will read this and act upon maybe?
:D
-
Aye, cos he does not have enough to do really does he ;)

'Go Touring.com' (which is now defunct) split it up by country
England
Scotland
(and that small wet country next to the Irish Sea  )
-
Did that have a search function aswell then Richard?

Did that have a search function as well then Richard?
No, they were just listed 'ad-hoc' as the outlet was added.
Admittedly a search by county would be a nice facility, but being a bit of a 'Techno-Luddite' I wouldn't know what was involved for Tim to initate a search facility.
As an aside, should comments on the relative merits of various Breweries products in any pubs listed be made?

Would have thought so, non drivers in every party :)

Lancashire would be the right coast..

Someone doesn't know their Left from their Right.
I was thinking of a country that's a bit further south-west, than Yorkshire. Y'know the one where the locals wear Wellies when they go 'courting', & call their girl-friends; "Baaa-bera"
Plenty of good food their though; all kinds of 'baa-snacks' in the pubs
-
Seriously though, I've got a fair list already covering Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cumbria (& Lancashire  )
-
I've set something up in the 'Recommendations' area.
Please take a look. We'll see how it goes and if we need to change anything.

He's a good lad our Tim.

Interesting idea . Offroading .com has a PUb and Beer section, beer section is particularly of interest to us real ale drinkers.

He's a good man that Tim :D
-
Yeah, but I'd watch out for that BTM, he's too clever by half, that bloke. Always coming up with clever ideas!
Top suggestion, that man!
Ta, Tim as well!
cheers

Oh stop it, you're making me blush!!
Just thought it'd be handy for everyone as they travelled around, but as always; 'One Mans Meat Is Another Mans Poison'
Even though we (the poster) might like it, a person acting on recommendation might not.
So I suppose the (approximate) phrase is; 'Caveat Emptor'

'One Mans Meat'
Ewwwwww, Dude! I know this is a food thread, but there are some things I just ain't eating!!
