Title: Memory seat and mirrors
Post by: JEEPSTER on May 12, 2007, 17:09:08
2001 grand cherry with the 2 position (2 remote) memory seats and mirrors.
problem;when opening/unlocking with the different remotes the passenger mirror always doesn't quite adjust correctly (usuallys stays about 3" downward) and seat does a similar thing, usually have to put it back a little bit further to get the setting right,is there a module or similar that holds the positions set?
just seems a waste of time at the moment having memory seats/mirrors that dont quite work right !!!!

The nearside mirror on my '97 hasnt worked properly for ages, same thing so it just has to be moved manually every time i unlock. The previous owner had it looked at by jeep dealer and according to old invoice 'broken spring in mirror',must be easy to fix (after youve taken off door trim etc).just not got round to it .heated drivers seat used to work too...probably broken wire.

Its a jeep thing .... by the time you have fixed that electrical problem another one will pop up.

I would suggest setting your mirrors and then disconnecting the fuse. I have just aquired a workshop manual and will have a look to see which fuse it is..
Maybe the seat can be dealt with in the same way, I will check it out.

My old 2000 WJ used to do that, amongst other silly memory related issues. Left the battery off overnight and it was fixed.

sounds promising,i will try that over the weekend..
i obviously have the radio code, but is there any other "issues" i should worry about/be preperaed for leaving the battery off or connecting it back up?
