Title: I must be mad
Post by: beast5680 on April 24, 2007, 21:39:04: i went to have a look at a friend of the boss,s disco tonite which looks like its blown the headgasket ,its an M reg 5 door 7 seats etc sounds very sick only running on 2 cylinders and.......

I somehow ended up buying it cheap off the bloke as he didnt want to repair it :roll: but i can repair and hopefully either use it or make some money :D and if i cant i can break it and make money :wink:

the wife is not best pleased at the minute :( thats 3 i,ve got now :roll:

Post by: beast5680 on April 28, 2007, 20:30:44: well i,ve got it home and had some time to kill so i pulled the head off to see whats wrong, and its trashed the head :roll: seems one of the hoses failed and blew out the coolant causing it to overheat and do the head, it also dropped a part of a valve seat into No2 which ended up embedded in the head but has done remarkably hardly any damage to the top of the piston . so now either i need to find a good secondhand head, do they exist? sell as it is or break it or get a new head,i dont really want to spend loads on it though :?

Post by: Range Rover Blues on April 29, 2007, 13:57:26: That head is quite nastily mashed. Has anyone ever tried TIGing the head up and skimming it? might save the price of another head.
