Hi there gang got a 4.0l 97 pre face lift cherokee
what im wondering is do i need a sump plate / guard as my mate has got a top notch shogun and im well jealous lol
on a serious note he has guards over all most all the engine bay and the fuel tank but i dont  Do i need them ? Has anybody got one for sale ? or pictures as i could get one made up if i have pics need it for this weekend if i do please help :D

The highly esteemed KD has some XJ protection for sale....also try Rustys off Road etc in da States

The standard steering skid isn't particularly good - I bent mine, so it came off. If you have 3" or more of lift, I wouldn't bother. Sump guards are not fitted on any XJ. Never heard of anyone having problems. If you have no transfer case or fuel tank skids, they're worth getting.

nothing wrong with a stock Mopar steering guard, i have never bent mine & i have a reputation for being less than gentle with my XJ!!!!!
same goes for the stock Mopar transfer case skid & fuel tank skid.........
I have all of the above on the shelf here.......2nd hand of course!!!!
I have had a Rustys engine & gearbox skid in the workshop for over a year, havent got around to fitting it yet & cant say I have ever wished I had it on.......
