Hi how much work is it to put a 1600 8v vitara engine in a sj413 its not a sammy just a 413 is it just the adaptor bracket i need to make it fit.

hi Baz,
yes there is a conversion plate needed and well worth the trouble doing it. concider puttig a paddle clutch in whilst the engine is out. well worth the investment.

Get the full circle plate from Rob Storr for £45 (dont get the mounts i have heard mixed reports about these) .I have a couple of links for step by step fitting if you need them......

you dont need a conversion plate to fit a vit engine to a 413 gearbox
the top 2 bolts are a straight fit you just have to drill new holes for the bottom 2 plus with a conversion plate your starters gear will not engage the fly wheel 100% and will give un even ware on it

So do i drill the botyom 2 holes, then tap a thread in there.....?
How deep, what size hole ?

if you take ue gearbox out and match it up ur see
