Title: First ford in my 90
Post by: Daz800 on February 26, 2007, 19:10:54
Most of you know i have a 2.3 petrol 90..well today it went through its first ford (with me owning it anyway)
Near Pershore railway station is a ford (upto its 1 mtr mk) tonight after taking my son back to collage and not wanting to wait in the rush hour traffic i deceided to go for it. I had to think about it for a few mins first.
I  went through, carpets got wet, water high up side and it made it without a cough or sputter. \:D/

Cant wait to take it greenlang but i think i must get a snorkle for her before i do any more fords.
I wonder if my wifes disco 2 will go through..... no i better not even think about that. :smack:

Remember my first Ford (3-door Cortina)

Seriously, probably only around a foot in depth, not a daring as you still loved it all the same. :D
Have you looked at this website. For some more fording adventures

Very Nice Daz ..

It's actually Listed as Pinvin on the Wetroads  (http://vamp.idlers.org/~jaffa/worcestershire.htm)Website and is stated as
"There is no competition...this is definitely the longest and deepest (light-vehicle motorable)
ford in Worcesterhire." But with the nice warning of
"Floods very easily"

MultiMap Clicky (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=394500&Y=248000&width=700&height=400&gride=394750&gridn=248000&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=&zm=0&scale=10000&out.x=6&out.y=12)

Definatly one to keep revisiting

There's a couple of UCR's just north of that, centred round White Ladies Aston with a couple of good fords across Bow Brook, watch out in flood though as they can be over the bonnet. Another one just round the corner below Naunton Beauchamp too - that one is a concrete bottom that can get quite slippery.
Plus there's the three around Shell - more of a stream really but still good for a splash

We occasionally run from Wychbold up to Solihull for a day out laning - think there's about a dozen fords on that route
