Title: Fitting Handbrake on transfer Fitting 410 trans on sammy
Post by: sharper13 on February 26, 2007, 13:32:40
Hi

I am looking to put in a 410 trans box on my sammy can i keep the h/brake on the tran or do i have to keep it on my rear axles i have removed my drums and it looks like i will have to change the adjusters as they form the handbrake linkage can i just chop off the un used metal that exits the backplate? or do i require other adjuster plates?

is it better to have a transfer brake or keep with what i have and just use the box
cheers
scott

Just leave the old bits in and connect up the new cable you got to the transfer brake.

Is that right? I thought the ends of the cable were different. I have collected an entire handbrake lever and cable assembly so I can be sure I have all the right bits to do exactly this.

It is possible that the differences are between Japanese and Spanish built. Just about every other component seems to be different
