A while back I was given a book, and was just wondering if someone could shed some additional info on it?

Many thanks

Would it not be best to read it to find out what it's about?

Have you tried doing a google on the book title - put it in "quote" marks.

It's the expensive one (£75!)
Very good book, almost biblical.

No. That was 'Hundred Days Of Darien'

Both in content & length
It's a brilliant book, I've got a first edition down in my 'snug'

It was reprinted (a couple of years ago) as a spiral-bound soft-back, if I remember correctly?

Sheppard was a RAF pilot who gained notoriety amongst travellers for his part in the Joint Services Trans-Sahara expedition (in 101FCs)
He is also a highy regarded member of the Royal Geographical Society

And, as for his 'take' on a 90 Hard-Top interior! WOW!!

It was also a joint effort between Landrover and Tom Sheppard. I’m slowly reading through it, it just makes you want to pack up and take-off to some far flung corner of the globe!

Vehicle Dependent Expidition Guide is one of the books I recomend to people who want to prepare for a trip. I have a paper back Second Edition. The publishers note makes good reading.....

Another book of his worth getting is Off-roader Driving. Buy it if only to read the suppliment with the comments about electronics.....

Both published by Desert Winds.

Tom Sheppard now drive a Merceds G-Wagen.

Third book is a Land Rover one.
Working in the wild, A manual for Africa.
Some useful tips.

Originally it was about £29.00 when it was first released (1998), the subsequent spiral-bound edition was about £17.00

The hard back version was a collectors piece and bringing silly prices so I understand.
I've not seen the spiral bound version but my paper back copy cost £22.50 according to the back cover.

climbingchris.
I suggest you look after your hard back book.
