Title: Cherokee Question
Post by: redchurch on February 17, 2007, 01:30:17
I'm looking at buying a Cherokee. I've had a Grand Cherokee before (98, 2.5TD) and miss offroading so i'm looking for something cheap to use for this. I've found a 93 Cherokee for sale just up the road but the owner says 'the rocker cover gasket has a small leak near the bulk head'.

This means nothing to me. Is it a big problem?

the rocker cover on a 4.0 petrol is a easy fix.........if that is what the leak is.

ok cheers for your help, I'm getting a mechanic to look at it before I buy so hopefully he will be able to confirm this.

Also I used to have a Grand Cherokee and compared to this the Cherokee seems very low, am I imagining things or is there a big difference in ground clearance?

GC might have been a tad higher as it was a diesel....Diesel XJ's stood 1'' higher as stock than petrol ones
