Put a 300 engine & auto box out a disco into my 90?

been offered the complete setup reasonably cheap but i dunno if its worth the hasle

Depends if you want an auto or not mike, and also what kinda state your current setup is in!

itll just be bit sluggish on road, but hey, its a land rover  :P

just dont expect it to start like your 200, mines grade 1 doggy droppings in cold weather
and before you give me a lecture, everythings been done to it  :wink:  its just crap  :roll:

well ive already got the fullsize cooler & also the exhaust,i would just need to get a front pipe made up,then again i do have my rad n that moved back for the winch

ach i dunno

will see how much its gonna cost me first

my engine is about 4 mil away from leccy fan  :roll:
ill take a few piccys for you tonight mike to give you idea how tight things are  :shock:
ive built everything around it, and bumper, itll be alot of work but nuffin you cant handle  :wink:

What you really need is a TD5 with a hybrid auto box :D

There is also that the fact i can get td5 for about 3-4 k with very light damage

unusual mine starts on the button usually without glowplugs at all??? :?  even on remote start it's ok.... 8)  8)

I want remote start tooo..... love your truck ian!

Mine starts fine on v cold days with a knacked battery, but it has only done 10k..

A late one will be a ECU controlled 300Tdi... which can be chipped!!!  :wink:

can it be mounted in the back ???, and just have a little leccy fan onit to cool the oil ?

grumble......

found out yesterday that its a mechanical injected 300 auto that ive been offered,on the flip side however it means its a straight fith other than the mounts & oil cooler pipework...


I have a plan captain & thats bloody dangerous  :twisted:

Its very slightly off topic, but how do you get an auto box to fit a 200tdi defender engine wise? I assume that nothing has to be done to the transmission tunnel!

you need to get the bits of an auto 200tdi disco (flex plate etc) which are likehens teeth,i dunno about the transmission tunnel yet as i can see mine being fabbed out of some flat sheet
