if anyone does know of anything in peterborough/ northants area, please drop me a line.
for the record i have full class 1 licence, and am fully qualified (C+G) in heavy vehicle maintance/repair

Cant help with a job in northants..... but here in the scottish borders my employer is struggling to find a replacement for when i leave "country estate manager/ gardener/handyman/ general dogs body"......
I could do with finding someone who can offer me employment operating tracked 360 excavators (any size over 10 ton), i have the cpcs card etc.
Cheers Guys.

Well a good start with you licence will be to sign on with a local agency (though you probably know this already)as most will be able to get you work, Tesco's in p'bog use a fair amount of agency drivers so thats a good start.

not too good that.. howcome you've lost your job?

This may sound abstract but how about these for suggestions?
The Royal Logistics Corps TA are crying out for drivers, they are based at Grantham which I don't think is that far from you.
Thought about the Police? Do two years on the beat then go for the Black Rats, sorry, Traffic and qualify as a vehicle examiner.
I've PM'd you with another suggestion.
Cheers

try the courier companies, (TNT etc) its hard work and probably not hte best money arround but it'll pay the mortgage..
have you thought about being an HGV instructor?
not sure how you'd go about it, but can't be as tough as driving nights on delivery rounds..
otherwise theres always agency driving jobs around......

Shouldn't be too difficult to find something to do with the qualifications you have. Here in Birmingham they're screaming out for LGV Technicians, especially with a C+E licence. Some are even letting you name your price
