jimny now in need of a new clutch so thinking about a paddle clutch
anyone know wot there like
bin told that off-road use is good but everyday usage they can knacker fly wheel
so as it is my everyday motor as well as off-road toy dont want to cause more probs by fitting one of these
so info please

All I can say is that mine, in handling all 970cc of brut powah is superb.... I don't see how it will "knacker" the fly wheel? maybe someone else will throw some light on this quote, but its no harder than the original, there is just no springs......
I guess, it "could" put extra strain on the Fly Wheel, Gearbox, Transfer Box, Diff's, Half Shafts, Prop Shafts, wheel Bearings, Bushes, etc etc etc because mine, and I believe Steve's (V8moneypit) is either engaged or not, although I've not yet found this to be an issue, and all my zuke has had since fitment is gentle road use.
At the end of the day, if you are "doing!" your clutch quickly because of your off road adventures you wll eventually require a Fly Wheel anyway.... would it need replacing sooner because of your clutch choice?
Who knows!
go Paddle..... I didn't the first time and regretted it, the second time I did!

as this is now 3rd clutch ( 1 by me 1 by prev owner ) looks like paddle clutch then
so where to buy from ( kap/rhino ray ) must be cheaper if cut middle man uot
so anyone knwo where

Ive done two changes in 2006.... first time was to standard and 2nd was to a KAP supplied Paddle.......
If you have a stisfactory release bearing and preasure plate then just buy the paddle part...... I did, but the rest of my kit was only slightly used.

i use mine mostlly on the grey stuff and im concerned it would affect my parking on a sixpence skills
you cant beat the look on someones face when i park in the smallest gaps lol

The padle will just make the clutch a little "Sharp" but mine can be ridden.... pm V8moneypit (steve) he has a paddle in a 413 and uses the truck when ever the V8 110 is out of squirt.... so thats daily then!

The standard SJ clutch is, without doubt, a weak point. I use my Samurai regularly without too much issue. As Fudge says, the paddle plate is a bit 'sharper' at the biting point, but you soon get used to it. And it has never slipped. The standard clutch used to slip at the slightest sign of a rock to climb over :lol:

one of the lads has just bought a 413,got it cheap coz.................the clutch is sh***ed :roll: :roll: ,these paddle clutches your all talkin about,where can he get one from coz he's talkin of takin it off road and are these the same as the ones I used to put in my rallying Mk2 escort :?: ,they look like a star fish with sintered bronze square blocks on the end of the "fingers",now that used to have a "sharp" clutch until you got it warm then it was fine
