Head gasket problem is a possibility... Check water and oil for signs of each.

All sorted now, filled her up with 50/50 Anti and Water

Better check it tommorrow just in case. Don't get your hopes up too high.

just got back from a 75 mile drive, checked it before i set off and when i got back, all seems fine, temp gauge stayed where it should the whole journey
-
I would still keep an eye on it for a few days.
My son's showed same symptoms a few months ago - it's now in the workshop having new head gaskets etc............

Thought this forum, was above remarks like that, looking back when the Disco first came about a lot of people remarked about it not being a proper landy and time has proven them wrong, give the old Freebie a chance she is not a bad old girl, and at the end of the day when all is said and done, she has the good old green oval attached to her, so she is a proper landy :D :D

I have to admit, the freebie has surprised me. On a recent laning trip, infortunatly, due to money issues, i couldn't get Mud Tyres or All Terrains, but was persuaded to try the lanes anyways. Throughout the whole weekend, it rained, which made the lanes very slippery and dodgy, but alas, she made it. Even coped VERY well with the rock steps.
