just need to make up a capiler mount.
-
so how have you actually done it?
is it just the hub carrier and disk off a later vehicle?
-
its a rangie rear hub and disc on a series stub axle, just swapped the bearings from the series hub to the rangie but need to get an oil seal to going in the back of the hub also u'll need 24 spline diff and front shafts and 90 flanges
-
Have you tried putting the wheel on and seeing how much room there is for the caliper?

i run swb rims on the animal so the calliper will clear the wheel
wot r u making the calliper brackets out of cos they take loads of stress torque ect
-
going to make it out of 15mm steel or cut the mount off a set of rangie axles ive got in the gardan and cast weld them to the series swivel housing
-
few pics of the clearance of the disc and wheel.

keep us posted, i would like to do this to my series.
-
think it would be easyer to adapt some mounts onto the swivel pin bolts rather than welding to the housing

i agree, welding onto cast is a very specialised job, requiring a furnace to bring the cast upto 500oC or so then welded with iron powder rods or something similar, then the cast must be cooled slowley over about 12 hours or so, iam not an expert but there is a complicated procedure.
best use good 'ol' nuts and bolts.

Hi,
Any progress on fitting the calipers yet, or are we still recovering from the new year celebrations?
Cheers,
Steve.
-
IIRC welding on any casting is an MOT fail anyway.
SOrry if this has been covered before but will the 6 bolt RRC swivel fit the series axles?
-
Well matey if you can find a way you can do mine fee negoitable!!
-
hows the conversion going :?: :D
yours, waiting with great interest :D
-
..Mark, he scrapped the whole LR. So as far as I'm aware, he's stopped the 'project'.
-
