"Where theres blame - there's a claim!" ;)
and dont forget ya tetanus jab too.....
-
my younger brother tried to kiss a jack russel once, his lip looked liked your hand afterwards
-
i think i had my tetanus a few years ago but im contacting the doc tomorrow anyway just to be sure
-
Not a dog keeper as I know I couldn't commit the time and ewnergy but not a hater of dogs...
Owners however... :smack:
I say sue them... They seem to be taking it all very casually and you have pain, suffering and loss of mobility to be compensated for.
They failed to warn of a dangerous dog... "...forgot to mention..." means they knew already and are responsible for it. If they HAD mentioned it and it still happened then yer on yer own... but that's not what happened.
-
Youch! The smaller they are the worse the bite!
Hope its better soon
-
ive been bitten before but without warning.. from a staffi
that owner knows and he couldnt apologise enough but the staffi only hates my guts no one else who works in the kennels
which suits me fine cos i cant go down there then in case ;)
-
we had a pereen mountain dog (bitch) took a dislike to small children altough nobody had done anything to her she bit 1 lad of 14 but that was his fault but when she was going mad at the fence at an 14 month little girl we did the hardest thing ever and took her to the vets. really upset us but it would have upset us more if she had mauled a little child
hope you feel better soon

Fathers jack russell bit his hand ...and then refused to let go  the only way we could get him off was to dunk him in a water butt he had to let go then

Jack Russells are the most vicious dogs I've ever come across - I hate them

i,ve pesonally owned 2 now and both of them have been the most well tempered and kid friendly dogs i,ve seen :D

Jack Russells are one of my pet hates. If you'll pardon the pun. I've known a few and they can be really loyal family dogs, but I wouldn't trust one as far as I could throw it. I had to wire mesh my garden when a neighbour inherited his mothers JR. Missing an eye and scars all over it's body. I had a German Shepherd at the time and the first time he walk out with the JR, no lead, it bolted across the green, through our hedge and attacked my dog. She just held it down with tail out one side of her mouth and head the other. It was funny in a way and my dog didn't hurt it. This happened about three times before I fixed the fence to keep it out. Still didn't stop it from charging across the green though and stand yapping at the gate. Eventually my dog got sick of it and started to get in first. Then my neighbour started accuseing ME of haveing a dangerous dog. Conveniently forgot his dog started it, because HE had no control over it and wouldn't even try.

well aimed steel toe cap does the job -especially if its a male dog ;)
-
well i didnt want to say i hated jack russells in case i got a backlash from mud members but it seems my hatred isnt alone here
weve had loads of troublesome jr's in our kennels, the owners deny owt is wrong cos the classic is..
"the dog is fine with me"
well of course it bloody will you are the owner!
the next line
"what shall i do about it"
if it was me i would have it put down
-
I would have killed it there and then....But then I am not overly fond of an animal that is dirty, smelly, socially irresponsible and usually agressive.
So that is most dogs then.
I am with Korea when it comes to dogs.
-
My dog hates jack russels as well, he is a full sized GSD and is soft as anything, he just has a problem with little dogs, big dogs he is fine with and has a play with, but he really doesnt like little dogs.
I agree with whats been said so far, sue the owners, if they knew it didnt like strangers then they should have warned you, the onus is on them.
-
have another look today
shows the healing wounds
looked worse on sat cos things were dangling outta my hand!
-
our jack russel is fine with people, she just hates other dogs.
we keep her on the lead at all times while out walking her, for that reason.
-
They always put poison in small bottles.
-
lol nice one jim will
i told that one to the missus and she agreed wholeheartedly!

JRT's best dogs you can get.
Yes they are a bit "nippy" if not well trained, but what do you expect, they are a working terrier.
Sad to see this criticism here, no such thing as a bad dog - only bad owners.
Owned and worked them all my life [had 6], never had one that bites others [or me]. Most hate a select few other dogs though.
-
Nasty little oiks a lot of 'em. My airedale had 2 hanging from his neck once. He would never take on with small Dogs.

we all think what dog we love and hve had for years are the best but i do agree it's not the dogs but the owners sometimes dogs do bite through unknown illness a freind of ours has 2 rotties lovely and placid when youre with him but when they are gaurding his house well pity the fool who enters

 That hand looked nasty. I hope there's no lasting damage.
