Rear caliper bolt snapped.
1. what size thread is it?
2' where can i get them from?
3. whats the best way to get the old one out?

if theres a little bit of thread sticking out, snap on do a stud remover kit, they are like sockets but have a reverse flute in them, i havnt had on stud that they don remove.

if theres no stud sticking out, snap-on do another kit which contains reverse twist drill bits and reverse twist  taps for winding them out.

boths kitts are not cheap but they are the ebst thing ive bought, especialy if you own a landy.

Machine Mart also do some reverse-socket-stud-remover thingies - cheaper than the Snap-On ones...... I've only used mine twice, but both times they've saved me a LOT of pain/expense/time/misery.

RS components sell them as do Screwfix
I got a set from RS then bought a larger set in Florida fro about £15
Its expensive but why not get a few friends to chip in for a set ?

Bought these at a car boot for £1, no one know what they where, only used them once but saved hours

Can you get a drift, punch or chisel anywhere near it? I have had great success with drifting snapped bolts out but you do need a clean tap at it. You seem to generate massive turning forces in a rather gentle way.

Worth a go as it has the merit of costing nothing!

I have overcome the same problem by puddle welding a nut onto whats left and using it to simply undo the offending bolt. The heat from welding helps release the thred as well.

When mine did it I remember struggling to get the calliper off, I thinnk I had to cut the disk off the hub to remove the hub.  Then I drilled the bolt from the outside and it screwed itself out towards the diff.  As said any process that puts heat in to the bolt will help, a mate of mine zaps bolts with his TIG before struggling with them.
