the sterering box is leeking have not seen it yet so dont know how bad its going to be
they won't fit a seal kit have had trouble doing it before
how hard is this as there is nothing in the haynes about it +

Normally they are fitted with a 4-bolt box
-
cheers Tim  just my luck
was going to buy tyres but could be a PAS box instead
on paddock what do they mean :?:
Surcharge on exchange unit £100.00
is that if i dont give them the old one
-
Just looked at those auctions.
The 3 bolt units have different fittings on them. As far as I know.. the 6 bolt boxes are interchangeable with the 4 bolts as they both have metric fittings on them.

They will charge you £100 more and give you the £100
back on return of your old steering box..

Tony, I was going down that path, chickened out and got a replacement box instead, depending on how bad the leak is there may be an alternative

i had a leek on my pas box and this stuff helped out
LUCAS POWER STEERING STOP LEAK
its from USA but i got it from e-bay
reduced the fluid leak by 75% :D
hope this helps

I've bought a bottle of this stuff too to see if it makes any difference, wasn't sure if it was snake oil or not, but for the sake of a tenner compared to a new box and pump I thought I'd risk it!
