I have bought a genuine roof rack ladder for my 300 tdi Disco. I have offered it up to the rear door and the bottom feet sit on the top of my number plate! Is the a common problem? I can not move the number plate down enough to clear it because it will cover the Discovery logo.
What does everyone else do to get around this problem?
Cheers!

Now about removing the number plate and re-fitting it on top of the ladder fixings,
Or
Cutting the corners off the number plate with a jigsaw.

Could the number plate be larger than normal. I had to move mine down to just below the ladder but it didn't cause a problem.
Could the sticker be in the wrong place?
Remove it and get another one?
Take a dremel to the corners.

I was going to suggest that maybe you had a ladder for a TD5, but then I remembered that the rear doors on the TD5 are the only panel they have in common with the Series I Disco, IIRC. Which is slightly ironic given the problems they had with the hinges sagging. Hopefully the hinges are different but I'm not holding my breath.
You could always upgrade to a nice Patriot roof rack with a built-in ladder :D

I too had this problem, just removed the number plate and fitted the ladder. The number then just fits over the top.

Is that an old photo Andy, or didn't Jayne let you buy a full set of Wranglers??

It's an old one Richard.
Pre MTR's and rear lamp guards.
It was just too show the number plate
