hi all :D .i have a silly question whilst driving our new (1989 rrc lwb vogue se a) i noticed that it seemed to sit lower on the drivers side, and sure enough when i got home on our flat drive the drivers side sits about half an inch lower,is there some way i can raise this side or lower the other so it is level?
please awnser in laymans terms im ok with cars just not sure what everything is called..
thanks for your time

fitting new coils MIGHT fix it, but it might not... its a land rover - they all lean!
-
The drivers side is usually higher until you get in it (designed that way....so I was told).
You can either get new springs or fit a spacer beneath the spring to bring it level.

cheers :)
looks like ill be fitting a spacer.the reson i asked is our delica had torsion bars u just wound them up or down!
-
It maybe that the suspension bushes on the radius arms (them things that hold the front axle to the chassis) are worn and it's this that's causing the lean, this is as common as weak springs.
Spacers will make it look better but won't cure the problem.

check your tyre pressures, if theyare ok i would go for a new set of springs, i would advise against packing springs on one side, not saying its dangerous but its not the done thing!
new set of springs isnt going to cost the earth.
-
check your tyres
then dont worry if its isnt that..they all lean 8)
-
thanks for all your replys i got a new (2nd hand) set of front springs today.
cheers all jon :D

Long wheel base? is that right then :?

So how does that compare to adjustable spring seats on coil over suspension. Its very common to adjust one side of the car using coil overs to be different to the other side to improve the cars balance.

all the rangerovers i've had have had at least 1/2" difference, sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right.
i always thought that was as good as it gets.

And ALL LWB were built with EAS, so correcting a lean to one side is a job for ROVACOM.

Before you start changing suspension bits. check the body mount on the low side and make sure it's still there
I changed my back springs expecting miracles, and got the same result I started with
New body mount next on my shopping list.......or shall I lift all the body up

My disco seemed to lean a bit to the drivers side. I also decided it leaned a bit to the back! Replaced the rear springs, no difference. I dont think it leans back any more, just to the drivers side.
Given up, its a landy thing! :D
