Guy at work is retiring and would like a cheapish 2.5TD to use as a tin tent on his walking holidays.Lives in the Midlands area.Does anyone have one for sale?

I would urge your mate to change his mind and get an lpg 4.0 instead - much cheaper to run and similar if not cheaper to buy. The VM 425OHV engine in the 2.5TD Cherry is troublesome and very expensive to fix.

You've got 3 mates retiring?
If he wants a XJ diesel go for as later model as possible...especially post face lift 97
Better still 4l petrol,,wouldn't do the LPG route tho..loss of space either in the boot or underneath and something else to go wrongx
