Hi All
I'm back, and so will M666MUD be soon!!!
Found a 110 to replace the 90 at last, but what colour should I get it painted? I've not bought it yet, but the one I'm potentially looking at is white. Now, I like white in the right place, but my 110 isn't the right place. The place I'm going to get it from will respray for not too bad a price. They resprayed my previous one before I got it and did a pretty good job, so...
The options are Metallic Blue (Oslo, I think), Metallic Green (probably Epsom), or flat green (probably Coniston - same as my 90 was). I don't fancy anything too bright - I might have to take clients out in it at some point
I'm going to have the whole vehicle done (including the roof) so it looks a bit more like a CSW than an SW
If yours is any of the colours above and is a 110 CSW, I'd be really grateful if you'd post it on here...
Thanks very much
Ben

Well my 90 is Oslo blue and its gorgeous, the only colour i would choose over it is possibly Bonatti Grey, but as that isnt an option stick to Oslo.
Plenty of pics of mine in my gallery :)

Ben!!!
Nice to have you back, it's been a long time, how's things going in Tibshelf?? (or did you move?)
Oh wait, I see you did
Pre-2006, I'd have definately have said Coniston like your old 90, as it was my favourite colour for any landie (even a P38), but now I'm biased
Bronze Green , like my 110 :(bigsmile):

& my 90

White, doesn't show the scratches and doesn't need washing often or polishing.
-
Gotta be blue, just the perfect colour for them :D
-
I went for Oslo blue - cos that's the same as my Disco 8) , and I like it............I have the same problem with the 110 - what colour to have it painted, I'm stuck between Bonatti Grey and the latest version of Oslo Blue
SWMBO reckons on the grey, as otherwise we'd have 3 cars all virtually the same colour (her Golf pocket rocket is dark blue).
Whichever colour I choose, my paint man is going to get bucket loads as from early next year you won't be able to buy 2-pack from the manufacturers - everyone has to go over to water-based paint !

None of the above !

None of the above !
Ditto ;)

My 90 is black .
I had a 110 in sandglow (camel colour) bit dated now but still looks good.
I reckon orange is good (as per G4) or silver (as per LR experience)
-
I'd love zambezi silver, but the guy I was planning to use says he can't get a good enough finish (i.e. one both he and I'd be happy with).
I'd also love Black, but my Octavia's black, and it shows up the scratches more than I'd want (it also constantly needs cleaning, but that's not so much of a problem with a 110!).
Cheers

It's a vRS estate - kind of best of both worlds - and it's old shape (so it's got a 1.8 turbo engine - same as the audi TT - rather than the 2.0 in the new one)
Haven't had anyone trying to get in it thinking it's a taxi yet, so I can't be doing too badly :D

Ben
So...............
When are you in Wakefield again????
(or when can I get down to Sheffield????? )
It's still a possibilty when the 'spare-car' (Fabia) is px'd, or when SWMBO isdue for a new 'works-van'

Not sure at the mo - work's mainly keeping me in Derby at the moment :(
(or when can I get down to Sheffield????? )
Just give me a yell! Interesting times at the moment as we're trying to wedge 2 three bedroom houses into the smaller of the two.
Depending on the quality of the 110 I get, the vRS may become surplus to requirements at some point in the next 12 months

The Fabia is going for it's annual service on the 25th (3years old & 15,000miles!)
The Roomster (http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/home.aspx) is released that weekend, so I'll be having a good look & trying to blag a drive.
Might be tempted....................

Epsom Green, with a green roof, is the way to go 8)

I know of a 110 being done in Alaskan blue metallic but he hasn't finished painting it yet. When he has finished i'll get a piccy up.
The paint as i have been explained is a special 2 layer plastic based paint. the base layer is the pigment which then a lacquer is applied on top of it. should it be scratched then the area can be rubbed down and then the base reapplied and lacquer the end result should unnoticeable from the original surrounding paintwork.

Just got 2 words to say!
