Title: Hello and Thanks
Post by: Vam on August 28, 2004, 14:40:34
Hello there,

First  post to introduce meself, ad say thank to those in Chat the other evening who helped with my questions about Tyres.

-Had a blow out on the M1 the other day in the 110 CSW 65 MPH in the centre lane as I was over taking - yes I can overtake sometimes despite her being a landrover!

Was an interesting experience to say the least, Glad I'd been 4x4ing so the juddering wasn't too bad... Husband got a bit fright as he saw the outer trim overtake us, then we overtook it, plus he was on the loopsided side.

Have now sussed out the strange world of tyres and numbers, and  what Im after(ish) and have got a nice man at a garage doing the hard work plus fitting.

So A happy bunny

Sorry I had to dash off so fast yesterday from the chat room, but the mother inlaw had turned up for the eldest's birthday and there were alreadly screams of resentment/agony coming from both kids and granny

Thank to all again

Vam

Hi There,

Don't know about that <bg>  Being a 'delicate' (Ok thats a joke) female I have to be able to lift/move the damn things, especially as the spare is bonnet mounted !!!

As long as they don't disintergrate on me again at 65MPH I'll be happy!

Im a big bloke, and ive just moved my spare 235 85 16 from the bonnet, as it takes too much effort to get the Ruddy bonnet up. :D

I know that feeling... same size tyre!

I've found the easiest way for me is to adopt an 'Atlas' type stance to lift up the bonnet... works well for me (I did say I wasn't that delicate <bg>)

Plus it also amuses the neighbours no end.... :D

Vam,

I've seen you here and there. You'll need to look closely at Honda Civics if you want to spot me at the moment. Land Rover is off the road at the mo!

Will do Guy, I'll set the rug rats on look out for Civics ...

Hope it nothing too much with the land rover, mine is our only form of transport and TBH I'd hate to have to drive a normal car again, don't feel safe in low cars any more, feel like Im a skate board!
