Hi i'm going to look at buying a discovery i was wondering what the pro's and cons are of V8 with lpg conversion and TDI.
called in at huddersfield land rover centre and asked about fuel economy, he mentioned that some older V8's with lpg suffer from problems with the gas system.
As there both the same on insurance and i do 50 miles a day to work and back i was leaning towards the V8, around 20mpg but half the price of petrol so 40mpg really and a lovely noise.
My budget will be around the £1500 max so would already have to have a conversion, any advice greatly appreciated
Cheers Mart

Personally I much prefer diesels, they are reliable, dependable, rugged and fairly economical.
Older LPG's seem to suffer from loads of problems and I can see the price of LPG shooting up where as with diesel you have other options as to what fuel to burn.

My 1994 300TDI dose 30+ if I drive carfully.
Just fitted a new cambelt and it runs even smoother.
I would get diesel as LPG might go up , with diesel you have a choice, diesel Bio diesel or SVO

also v8's on lpg do 12mpg normally rather than 20
