Title: Mountain bike thread - follow-up
Post by: thermidorthelobster on August 03, 2006, 12:44:59
Thanks everybody for various bits of advice.  I followed a few things on eBay and was outbid on a Specialized before I decided that second-hand prices are too high at this time of year, so I just bought a Marin Hawk Hill from a dealer in Abingdon on the way back from dropping the Disco off for a service.

Been for a quick ride and it's a massive improvement on my old heap of junk!

Speaking of which, anybody want to buy a used Barracuda Showdown?  It's a fantastic bike!  Seriously, it'd do fine for older kids who want a full-suspension bike to hack around on, and I'm very open to offers.

2 wheels are for lazy ppl, you can easily do a average of 18-20mph on these ;)

I used to have a 1989 Pine Mountain, I still remember waiting for that model to arrive in the shops so i could buy it.
SWMBO had a Bear Valley at the same time

'89's were pre-'granulated' paint (that was the 90 model)

I px'd it for a Pace Research RC100 after about 15months
