Engine and gearbox complete (2 1/4 petrol + 2A box)
-
Well..the engine is ... erm .... HEAVY.
-
So's the box - moved the spare yesterday and nearly had a stroke!!
Want to know so that I can buy a substantial enough engine crane.
-
Me and Doodlebug were able to remover the engine and gearbox together from my 2a when we were stripping it, we used a 1 ton engine crane and that lifted them with ease :D
-
when we swaped then engine and box from my old chassis to new one we used a 500kg chain hoist because thats what we had lting around its fair to say it wasnt happy!
it whent up ok but locked solid at the top hovering over a brand new chassis i wasnt feeling very comfitable but got it going with a big screw driver.
i think a 1 tone would be plenty but get the biggest you can aford its never a bad thing to be over spect when lifting hevy things.

Engine=350kg.
Gearbox+Transferbox=150kg.

Not surprising when you were going right up to the specified limit. :shock:
