Title: Six Stitches
Post by: muddy4x4 on July 29, 2006, 16:29:03
My son fell down a 5ft manhole on Thursday night! He had lifted off the cover to drain off our 8ft swimming pool.I heared a scream and found him stuck, lucky for him his arms had been out when he fell and were holding from falling anymore. After pulling Him out we found a large cut to his leg and a large graze to his ribs with swelling.Panic was on a quick rush to the local A+E.After 3 1/2 hours waiting and many paces of the floor he was seen by a doc.A x-ray of his chest was clear, but the bad part was he needed 6 stitches. So many tears and screams later he was patched up and now walks with a limp. All this made me think just how important my son is to me and how much i love him.Children are priceless look after them.

That's the problem, you go into coping mode, deal with the situation then later you start thinking "What if" and  thats when your imagination takes over ..... and you can't decided if you should hug or kill them   for what they put you through

Its like that with most situations like that. Old Joe and anyone else here that dos any first aid work pro or voluntarilly will tell you.

You get to the incident and its like a little switch goes and you ride it through to the end. Even more so when ts one of your own

When I was younger out of the 6 of use, everyone but Mum made it to a&e in one week.

Dad took his Tumb off on Monday
Brother went headfirst down a flight of stairs next day (no damage done)
Onesis hit tother with a rock Wed
Other sister got the first one with a rock the day after
And I cracked my head open on the corener of my desk thanks to my bro in payback for Tuesday

I think they were debating sending Social Services in

On Friday nite his foot  started to swell and he could`nt feel his toes.Panic started all over again!!A call  was made to the nhs dierct, who said it was from the fall. Had to go out today and get him some velcro sandles cos nothing would fit him at a cost of £25 for nike ones.A small price to pay to have my son happy again.

A few years ago my son, who about 9, was playing in his room, I heard a bloodcurdling scream........

The ambulance and A& E team were wetting themselves when they found out what he'd done.

Was lying flat on bed chucking a metal "pinball" up in the air, he yawned and it went straight down his throat!!!

I was sent home with plastic gloves to err "retrieve" it 3 days later.

Kids eh
