Title: Freelander clutch problem

1.8 freelander clutch, pedal dropped to the floor yesterday, couldnt get it in gear, got home and the clip holding the slave cylinder on was missing, got new clip, same thing has happened.  Any ideas ?

Having looked at it again, clip is still in place, when engine running after a few actualtions clutch goes to the floor nearly but if you lift the pedal up with your foot and pump it twice it goes back to normal for a bit then it happens again.

This is going to be the hydraulics isnt it ?

hiya,
check the bracket that holds the slave cylinder.these tend to crack and
let the cylinder move out of line and then the clip falls off.

one thing,dont try n bleed the sytem as it will make it worse,

secondly the bracket cracks & allows it to flex giving an odd pedal,




But if the pedal is going to the floor your looking at probably having to replace the slave cylinder & master along with the pipes
