Going around a 3 lane roundabout in the left hand lane when you want to go right is not a good plan. I think he caused 3 accidents.

Was this a lone "JCB", or was it a fapping great artic with JCB's on it, hence needing a wide bearth to get round most roundabouts!
-
One JCB. He had NO requirement to drive the way he was. I understand big artics taking outside lanes, but they always indicate their intentions...
-
Just a lone numpty then
-
did the jcb have any company name or tel no printed on it cos you can report it for dangerous driving to the fuzz (no. plate too)
-
perhaps it was the one that the song was written about, you know, where the lad sings about his dad driving the jcb. Don't recall any mention of roundabouts in it though.
-
Think about it carefully. A slow piece of crap JCB on a large roundabout...
If he went in the midlle or right lane he would never get back across to his exit because people would be passing him on BOTH sides. He did arguably the safest thing. People should give them a wide birth.
And yes, I have drove them along with eight wheel tippers.

At least with 8 Leggers no-ones usually wanting a fight so you tend to get what you want

The initial descriptions of events highlights that he was not indicating so your suggestion of the safest approach is innacurate.
Also, regardles of the behaviour of other drivers, tthis drivers behaviour contravenes the highway code and would consitute dangerous driving if witnessed by a police officer.

Indeed. The roundabout in question actually has spiralling lanes - so NO EXCUSE.
