Just wondered if the oil light being on at tickover is ok. It goes off when you dab the throttle. There is enough oil in as I checked.
Oh and it has 160K on the clock
Other than that it starts and runs sweet. It does smoke ever so slightly.

what engine?if its a TDI then its a problem,if its a V8 fit a guage & keep an eye on it,last engine in the racer was like that & (touchwood) never seized just had a little rattle to itself even when it was getting thrashed within 400RPM of goin pop

Have you changed the oil lately? If not, then now owuld be a good time. Oil light should go out within a couple of seconds max, when running. As mike said. Try changing the oil sensor/gauge first (after changing the oil). Lastly, change the oil pump.

It does not have oil guage just the light on the dash.
Its a V8 on carbs and has done 160K
I would prefer it not to go bang but a duff engine in a good 90 is better than a good engine in a duff 90 ! :)
I will do oil change first and see what happens.
oil looks pretty clean anyhow.
