After reading Andys 'Little known fact' about Rudolph Diesels marvellous invention & its primary fuel source in the BioDiesel (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?p=249710#249710) thread in the Discovery forum, I decided to test your collective knowledge
Q. What is the connection between Land Rover & the Messerschmitt 262?

Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel
I believe the link is one of Land Rover's previous owners - Bayarische Motoren Werke who evolved from the aviation engine production company.

I take my hat off toyou (http://www.landroveraddict.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tiphat.gif)
The 262 used a B*W003 jet engine & obviously B*W owned the Rover Group, plus they used to the 2.5 6-cylinder turbo-diesel (from the 5-Series) in the Range Rover.
(Vauxhall also used it for the Omega TD)
Watch out for 'Trivia. 2'
