Right, my nearside front swivel has got some play in it, so the wheel sits at an odd angle, its been like it for 3 or so years now and ive decided to do something about it!
So, do you reckon i could just take the shims out from in between the top and bottom swivel pins and it would tighten it up?
Or is it not worth it?
Oh, the motor is a 200tdi 90 if that makes any difference! lol
Thanks
Jon

If its the 'rialko' type bush, then for feks sake just buy a new bush and pin, a new taper roller for the underside and then set it up right. If its been slack that long itll need new parts and you can do it for about 40 quid including an assortement of shims to set the preload up.
If its the bearing type axle , then same applies(I dont know the cost tho as Ive never done one of those)

Just had the parts through to do the same to mine..... must be swivel time of year!!
The OE manual says you have to set the bearing pre-load with a spring balance... don't have one of those! Can it be done without one? If so, how should it be set?

I know the parts are cheap.... But its the works truck, and i dont have time to do it... i was wonderin if you could just whip the shim out and move the pin in a bit!
Can the bush and roller bearing be replaced without taking the hub off? It would be easier to get fixed if i could do this...
Cheers
