Hi
My reverse on daisy keeps jumping out even when held in by me - is this terminal?
-
not to sure,
but i think your gear selector is up the swany, you can get to this by taking gearbox tunnel out.

You have two choices from here . 1 remove the box strip it down and rebiuld it . 2 remove the box and replace it .
Striping it down for a rebiuld is not as daunting as it sounds . If you have the time ( because its off the road ) and the room ( because the wife will not like it if you do it on the kitchen table ) and also a workshop manual ( not a Haynes piece of s*i% ) . It does not cost as much as a replacement box for the bits you will need . This is what I have done in the past .....Al

rebuild???? I can just about manage a lego toy!....this selector bit is that easy to check out?
-
sure ....check it out ....check the lights too .... they have just as much to do with it jumping out of gear .....well , no I musn't tease . Under the center raised section of floor is the selector housing . once you have taken out the floor panels you can get this center panel out .With the engine not running , check that you are fully engaging reverse and the gate is operating properly. If the gearlever moves the reverse selector fully into place ( as far back as first and third ) then the truble is internal . If there is a marble or something jamming the reverse selector then theres your problem . I hope you find a marble !

A Marble???? whats that going to be doing in there?
-
It is just possible that some foreign object is blocking the movement of the selector ( like about 20,000,000 to 1 ) . I am guessing you don't have kids cos they put marbles everywere . I suppose it could be a fossilised grape of some sort .
