Funny noise from the front end

Whilst driving along the is a metallic or rubbing squeak from underneath  of my mates disco, When the clutch is depressed the noise disappears,

The disco has had a new Gearbox and Transfer box, as well as a clutch but whilst lanning in Wales doing some rock climbing, the clutch did get a hammering , smoking

The Disco drives fine no clutch judder

Clutch release bearing maybe?  :?
Gone dry cos of the heat, although these are normally more of a rumble when you put your foot on the clutch so not 100% on that idea.  :(

That is what we are thinking but to be sure we are going to disconnect the props whilst on a ramp and have a listen

Ummmm, I had a noise which sounded like that, then it turned into a rattle, now it is more like a clang..........The exhaust broke on the front pipe just before the join. Don't know if my noise was the same as yours, but it's worth a look.
