Title: 2.5D psst noise
Post by: TechnoTurkey on March 31, 2006, 16:31:39
When the engine is running it gives a regular pssst noise like air escaping under pressure.  Quicker when revs rise, there is also a bit of gunk around one of the injectors - is this problem likely to be serious?

Hope not as the engine is the only bit that runs ok!

sounds to me like one of the copper washers where the injector meets the block-has broken down i had the same on my200 tdi 90 a while ago made a sound like there was air escaping even on tickover

if you need to remove it use something like a hooked piece of welding wire or something similar to remove it and when you pu the new one back in use a piece of thin tubing that'll guide the new washer into the hole and placed back in the same location as the other one was
