I have a 1987 3.5 Efi V8 that turns over, sometimes fires for a moment then splutters to a stop.I have checked i am getting a spark at the plugs, cleaned all of the plugs and distributor cap and rotor arm and wiggled all connectors and had the maintenance guy at work spray everything he could think of with WD40.
It drove fine for about 200 miles i parked it and now it doesnt want to play.
I dont know that much about engines and was about to take it to the local dealer to check it over.
Any thoughts PLEASE!!!!
Thanks

If you get a spark then chances are it's the EFi system. The Flapper system is quite tempremental, it dosn't like air leaks in the inlet, it won't work if any of the sensors go down, it's crap TBH. Anyway, there's a diagnostic series of tests listed int he Haynes manual if you have the time, otherwise fit a Webber :D

Had same sort of problem with mine. changed everything I could and someone suggested to change the plugs and it started straight up.
check here (http://www.pixeltechnology.co.uk/wedge/maint_fuel_injection.pdf) for some good tests to try

Had the same on my old one. Had condensation in airflow meter.
Pop the cover off and check and clean if neccesary.
I had to replace it in the end as it only worked for a bit.'
Got one for £20 !

Thanks to all,i decided to go for the easy options and after looking at the airflow meter i found the hose on the outlet side so tightened it up and it fired first time!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all for you advice and help,no doubt you will hear from me again>
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
