Title: cooling / viscous fan

Hi everyone, hope some one can help me here,is the viscous fan suppose to act like  a free-wheeling device,as mine is temp solid ,as the water never gets warm, if anyone has  similar experience, so as the engine is idling its still spinning,

With the engine cold you should be able to sping the fan by hand? if not or it is very stiff (ooh er) then it is probably dead and its time to fit an electric one  :lol:

Martin i have one in my garage if you need one!it would be very cheap..it does sound like yours is dead

if it doesnt spin at all when cold then its time to change , on transits when they do that they end up shearing off and exiting the engine bay :shock:

I remember a sierra 3.0 4x4 that was the same, went with a good bang as well. :roll:
