Title: Swapping sus[ension - practical tips please
Post by: Kenny on April 02, 2004, 08:42:22
Received my 1"+ kit from scorpion and all looks very nice and clean, now the tough stuff - fitting it.......

Before I start I noticed that the shocks are listed as +2". Would this be normal considering the springs are +1".

The rear shocks also came with what appears to be two sets of bushes. One set in little plastic bags looks inferior. Is this normal ?

Now to the mucky stuff - any tips on the best way to proceed. Should this be a two person job ?

Cheers

Damian

i just managed my 2" kit on my own.
Before you start i would suggest gettign under each wheel arch with the jetwash and getting everythign clean.
A good dose of plus gas on all nuts and bolts.
Might also be best to get hold of some decent spring compressors as well.
To make it easy for doing on my own, i used an old scissor type jack to push the axle down from the chassis, much easier thn tryign to hold it down with a 2x4.
when you put everythign back gove all the bolts a good smearing in either copper slip or waxoil etc. you'll curseit the day you try to dismantle if you don't
