Title: it just doesnt run right

Went off roading this weekend, after a 1 hour drive to the site, i switched the motor off, 30 mins later it wouldnt start, so ended up cleaning the points and checking all the leads. After this it failed to run properly, not idling and the coil was getting to hot to touch. Even when running in low box at low speed it kept cutting out and it failed to re-start until all had cooled down

Any Ideas?

Sounds as if a new coil is on the cards.

Phew thats not so bad, was frightend it was gonna cost me a fortune

Nah, rip out the engine and replace it with another, something like a v8 or tdi :wink:
