I think some people on here are going to get wheel envy if they saw Scrapheap Challenge tonight on 4. :)
Such a pity it didnt reach the first hurdle! :(
-
Well, hardly surprising really is it, what a bunch of muppets, if it had had enough HP to turn wheel, then looking at the contruction, i reckon the wheels would have colapsed anyway, Land rovers axles dont like 35" simexs, so how are they going to cope with 120" + wheels with flat spots,

And according to Matt at D44, whos done Scrap Heap, its all fixed anyway, they put in the heap your shopping list of bits.

Good job there was not a side wind, the welds on those LR wheels would have snapped and the poor old thing would have fallen over like a p@##ed up tramp, At least one of them should have had some idea of ratios....................

Is it going to be the other semi next week, or the final that has John Carroll ('LRW' editor) as the guest with Kryton (sorry, Robert Llewellyn)

They said the other semi to find out the teams for the final
-
damn missed it
is it repeated?
-
what a laugh, my 7 year old lad sat their and said "that ain't gonna work" and he was right :D
as said, it is probably just as well they didn't get far, the way those "wheels" were wobbling about.
Nice ground clearance though :?

yes, they do seed the scrap heap with the parts they need
its only fair, TBH.
the program would be crap if there wasnt enough good parts for both teams
-
The episode that gave it away was the one where the teams had do build jet powered cars. Whilst rummaging around the scrap heap one team found a brand spanking new huge turbocharger (bolted to a rusty Air Canada air start truck).
Still a bloody good program though.

I beg to differ. It *used* to be good. The last few programs have brought forth vehicles which do not meet the challenge given to them. That's not TV for me.....I much prefer it when they actually build something that actually does the job.
3mph powerboat anyone? Land Rover with square wheels? Pathetic caber toss machines anyone?
<sigh>
-
My other half thinks im a sad git for watching it.....
She doesn't like Landrovers either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The tasks are starting to get a bit boring, specialy with the machines they make to compete in. Maybe the competitors should be given a more free reign. Some of the experts are a bit dubious too!
-
why not an MC team entry?
sure theres plenty on here who would be up to it

The Disco Owners Club are attempting to put a team together also ;)
