Title: Waterproofing the ECU
Post by: Jimbo on November 11, 2005, 12:24:34
Rather than forking out major beer tokens on the extended ECU loom, I'm thinking about putting my 110's ECU into an IP56 rated plastic box and leaving it where it is. Maplin appear to do a box, I just need to check the size of the ECU, but it got me thinking.......would I need to fit a 'breather' pipe to the box, to allow for ventilation to the ECU ?

Yes or it will cook itself.

Oh bu88er, does it need forced air ventilation, or just a breather pipe ?

I suppose I could just lift the seat base and have a feel, but someone must know !
