hi
I have a 1989 shogun 2.5td. Only had it for about 3 weeks. In the last week black smoke comes out the exhust When pulling away and will stop smoking when you are at normal speed. Can any one help on this because my MOT is up on the 2nd of november and im not sure it will pass like this. :?:

Don't worry they all do it when they get older . Ask anyone who tows a caravan with one.
-
so you think it still should be ok for the mot then?
-
The MOT smoke test requires a clear ish exhaust when the engine is held at high revs for about five seconds. If your Paj only smokes under hard acceleration you should be ok. Try an injector cleaner beforehand just to make sure though.

thanks Bluebottle for that. it passed on the smoke test. but it failed on every thin els. :(
