Title: fuel tank
Post by: gate78 on October 14, 2005, 17:14:26
When i bought my sj410q santana the fuel tank was leaking. i promptly ordered one from a breakers online, and after a long slog swapped them over. filled up with petrol, to watch it all pour out again. damned thing had a leak worse, and lower down than the old one that i destroyed taking off. anyway, breakers were supposed to send a replacement which they then sold to somebody else instead (still waiting for my refund). I tried fixing with proper stuff, and found yet another leak from round the spout probably from all the manhandling it got, this refuses to seal, and is still oozing. im pretty annoyed, and i wanna play with my new toy.

Can anybody reccomend anywhere that i can get a good leak free tank from for a reasonable price? Or can you buy universal ones, that i could box in the back after removing a seat?

any suggestions appreciated!

check out http://www.extremesuzuki4x4modifications.s5.com/index.html

its a new website nout up and running properly yet. I think whoever is doing the site should invest in a spell check, but it still seems interesting, and more importantly local(ish) to me.

Slighlt off topic ,but i'm planning on fitting an SJ tank I have to my Range rover Bobtail I'm building. My question is how much fuel does an SJ tank hold.

now if its to small I have an SJ tank going spare and I'm only in Huddersfield.

when i picked up the SJ it was running on vapour, i think it took £30-£35 to fill it up, dunno how much came out the bottom tho

let me know if its too small. though ill end up buying one soon, im itching to play!

wish it had been working today, took my cherokee to frickley (well if i could have found it) before one of my brake callipers seized up, leaving me sitting in the jeep with my son for over 3 hours until the AA man and finally the tow truck came to take me home!

seems like i have no luck at all.
