As discussed before (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=10921&highlight=hayseed+dixie), this rather odd collection of musicians were on Channel 4 early this morning for about 25minutes.
I'm sorry I didn't post it, but I only noticed after turning the PC off
(01:20 - 01:45)
They were interviewed after the Cambridge Folk Festival, I don't know if the 'Appalachian Mountain Man' image is a bit of a put on, I assume it is to a degree.
I like the style of playing, in fact I've loved Blue-Grass since I was about 10.
Perhaps it's the virtuosity of the Banjo, Fiddle & Mandolin players?
Did anyone catch them on Jeremy Vine (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/vine/) on Wednesday.
If you use the 'Listen Again' feature, you can hear it.
I didn't know that two of the members were brothers & their father?/uncle? wrote the music for 'Duelling Banjos' for the (Burt Reynolds) film 'Deliverance.
Still prefer Flatt & Scruggs though, & Ralph Stanley
